2007 to 2012
Ricmond was a student at Ai Tong School from 2007 to 2012.
Ricmond had served as Group Leader for various subjects (English, Chinese, Math, Physical Education) throughout his 6 years in Primary School. He was also the ‘IT’ (Information Technology) Monitor throughout his 6 years in Primary School. Ricmond had participated in the Art Club (2007 – 2008), Chinese Calligraphy Club (2009 – 2010), and Robotics Club (2011 – 2012) as his Co-Curricular Activity (CCA).
Ricmond attained a Certificate of Completion in the Robotics Advance Course using Lego NXT in 2011. He participated in the 5th National RoboPreneur Carnival in 2011.
Ricmond had clocked more than 185 hours in participating in Community Involvement Programmes (CIP), now known as the Values-in-Action (VIA), during the 2007 to 2012 period.
2013 to 2016
Ricmond was a student at North Vista Secondary School from 2013 to 2016.
On the class level, RIcmond was appointed the ‘ICT’ (Information Communications Technology) Representative. He took part in the Conversational Malay (Elementary) in 2013. He also took part in the Secondary 03 Adventure Camp in 2015.
On the Co-Curricular Activity (CCA) level, Ricmond was a member of the Infocomm Club from 2013 to 2016, and served as its President from 2015 – 2016. He had successfully transformed the CCA out from its transition stage to a step higher during his tenure as President, with various newly-introduced systems in place to keep the committee in check and ensure that tasks are fulfilled promptly.
On the school level, Ricmond was a member of the Prefectorial Board from 2014 – 2016, and served as the Deputy Head of Publicity from 2015 – 2016. He was a pioneer member of the Student Leaders’ Council, and served as an Executive Member from 2015 – 2016. He was the Camp Chief in the Organising Committee for the Orientation Camp 2015 and Prefects’ Camp 2015. He was also part of the Planning Committee for the Open House 2015.
Ricmond was awarded ‘Credit’ for the UNSW International Competitions and Assessments for Schools in Mathematics in 2013. He attained the 1st Prize for the National i-Trail Challenge, which was organised by Crescent Girls’ School and National Heritage Board in 2014. He participated in the FUN Trail organised by Ngee Ann Polytechnic School of Business and Accountancy in 2015. Ricmond was awarded Distinction in the UNSW International Competitions and Assessments for Schools in Mathematics in 2015. He participated in the Singapore Geospatial Challenge in 2015. He was awarded a Certificate of Distinction for the ICAS Math Competition in 2015. He attained a Bronze Award for the 17th Elementz Science Research Conference and Exhibition in 2016.
Ricmond has been an informal community volunteer since 2013. He has participated in a plethora of Community Involvement Programmes (CIP), or known as Values-in-Action (VIA) now, and clocked more than 100 hours completed during the 2013 to 2016 period. The programmes that he has participated in includes the ROSE Programme by Potong Pasir Constituency, Sengkang Central Estate Recyclables Collection, Food Donation Drive by Rivervale Community Centre, Spring Festival Goodies Distribution by Sengkang South Constituency, and many more.
2017 to 2018
Ricmond was a student at Meridian Junior College from 2017 to 2018.
Ricmond was a member of the Photography Club from 2017 to 2018. He was an active member that had participated in capturing the moments of various events.
Ricmond was appointed as a Grassroots Leader in 2017. He was appointed Assistant General Secretary in the Sengkang Central Youth Executive Committee from 2017 to 2019. He held various positions in the Organising Committee of various events. He was the Overall Volunteer Coordinator for the Sengkang Central New Year’s Countdown 2017. He was the Manpower and Volunteer Coordinator for the Sengkang Central Edusave Merit Bursary Award Ceremony in 2018. He was appointed the Head of Manpower and Publicity in the Organising Committee for the Sengkang Central Durian Festival 2018. He was the 2nd In-Charge and Head of Photo Booth and Photo Competition for the ‘Escape If You Can’ Sengkang Central Halloween Event in 2018.
Ricmond had served as the Vice-Chairperson of the Beijing Cultural Exchange and Immersion Trip in 2017. He was responsible for taking charge and ensuring the safety of all members of the trip, as well as making sure that the welfare of all members are taken care of.
Ricmond participated in the Junior College Experiential Programme (JXP) in 2017. He was tasked with orientating the foreign students to the way of life in Singapore and also to aid them in adapting to our environment and society. Furthermore, he was tasked with bringing them around Singapore to allow the foreign students to familiarise with their surroundings.
Ricmond attained a Certificate of Proficiency in the Australian Mathematics Competition in 2017.
Ricmond has took part in a variety of Community Involvement Programmes (CIP), or now known as the Values-in-Action (VIA), and have clocked more than 145 hours completed during the 2017 to 2018 period. He had participated in programmes such as the Animal Lovers’ League Fundraising, NUS RC4 Beach Clean Up, Project REACH, Kindness Week by Siglap Community Club Youth Executive Committee, and many more.
2019 – 2023
Ricmond had served Full-Time National Service from 2019 to 2021. After serving National Service, he enrolled in Singapore Institute of Management – University of London (SIM-UOL) for his undergraduate studies. He majors in Economics & Politics. He also took up the Business and Engineering Ethics course at Nanyang Technological University, Centre for Professional and Continuing Education (PaCE), in 2022.
Ricmond had participated in the National Day Parade 2019 as a participant in the Singapore Police Force Row A Contingent. He went through the National Service Basic Leadership Course (2nd Sergeant Course) in March 2020. He brought about a new change in his organisation even in his capacity as a Full-time National Serviceman. He had contributed extensively to improving the work environment and sought for improvement in various areas.
Ricmond is a fulltime undergraduate student in SIM-UOL, majoring in Economics & Politics. He was appointed into the SIM-UOL Student Representative Council in the Student Initiatives (Programmes) Subcommittee, serving from 2021 to 2023, and also appointed as Assistant Director of Events in the SIM International Affairs Society (IAS), serving from 2022 to 2023. He was appointed as Director of Operations in SIM IAS, serving from 2023 to present. His foray into leadership does not stop here, as he seeks to expand his horizons and spends his time meaningfully by being a community leader.
Besides community involvement, he also serves as a Squad Mentor in MissionX, a leadership programme by Youth Corps Singapore (under National Youth Council) for Institute of Technical Education (ITE), Polytechnic, and University students. He has since been a mentor to over 50 keen young and budding community leaders, who have gone on to sprout their own community initiatives.
Ricmond was appointed Executive Member in the Sengkang Central Youth Network from 2019 to 2020. He was Head of Youth Engagement and Outreach within the People’s Association Youth Network, a work group. Ricmond was reassigned as Secretary in the Sengkang Central Youth Network from end 2020 to July 2021. He was the then concurrent Head (Programmes), before being reassigned to lead as In-Charge (Training and Capability Development). He was appointed as Vice-Chairperson and concurrent Head (Publicity and Engagement) from August 2021 to December 2022. During the renewal of term to the 2nd term in January 2022 at Sengkang Central Youth Network, he was appointed as Honorary Auditor. In April 2023, Ricmond was offered to form up a new Youth Network in Sengkang North and took up the challenge, starting his journey as the Founding Chairperson in Sengkang North Youth Network.
He is also appointed as Executive Member in Compassvale Villa Residents’ Committee from April 2020 to February 2022. He was then tasked to lead the Youth Chapter as its Head of Youth Chapter, being appointed Executive Member and Founding Chairperson of Youth Chapter in Compassvale Villa Residents’ Committee from February 2022 to April 2022. In April 2022, he assumed a new appointment of Founding Chairperson of Youth Chapter and Secretary in Compassvale Villa Residents’ Committee.
Ricmond took time off to help in the Sengkang Central Edusave Merit Bursary Award Ceremony 2019 as its Prize Recipient Coordinator. He was involved in the various Mask Distribution Exercises and as well as the National Day Funpack Distribution. He was Event Committee Member in the Healthcare Workers’ Appreciation Event where goodie bags and postcards were given to healthcare workers. He initiated the Town Council Cleaners’ Appreciation Event where he had gathered items from members of the Residents’ Committee to be given to the cleaners, in the form of goodie bags. He was the Organising Chairperson of the PAYM Loves Red at St. Andrew’s Nursing Home where over 600 volunteers participated in programmes and contests to benefit over 330 beneficiaries of the nursing home. Notably, he has also volunteered to help out at major nation-wide distributions of masks and TraceTogether Tokens. He also volunteered in the Vaccination Outreach and Vaccination On-site Booking. Ricmond served as the Mentor to In-Charge of Project Steeping Stone, an e-tutoring programme for underprivileged students in the Sengkang Central Division. He currently manages the Compassvale Villa Residents’ Committee Telegram and YouTube Channels. On top of that, he was In-Charge of the Smartphone Photography Workshop held in the Compassvale Villa precinct. During his time serving, he has served as Mentor to over 5 students from the Polytechnic Community Leadership Programme (CLP). Having seen the success of PAYM Loves Red at St. Andrew’s Nursing Home in 2020, he had spearheaded the 2nd run as its Organising Chairperson, rebranded as PAYM Loves Red at Keep Your Red Alive!, which outreached to over 3500 youths and students, as well as 1700 beneficiaries. In conjunction with Earth Day, Ricmond served as the Organising Chairperson for Sengkang North Earth Day – YES WE CAN!, where he had brought together environmentalists as well as youths to do their part for the environment.
To date, Ricmond has clocked more than 450 hours for his involvement in the Community Involvement Programmes (CIP), now known as the Values-in-Action (VIA). He has been an active volunteer in the community for almost 10 years, since 2013. He has been an active Grassroots Leader since 2017 and has contributed to the community in many ways.
Ricmond remains committed to the social cause and in helping the community. Having been at the helm of various community projects and initiatives, he is a seasoned Grassroots Leader that has the ability to lead and serve. With a renewed passion and interest, Ricmond aims to continue coming up with more community projects and initiatives while training a younger batch of Grassroots Leaders. This way, he is still able to help the community, within his capabilities, of course!
